First weekend of August

I have a full week with family going to Scotland and a good friend leaving to go back to QLD as well as rugby and coaching I have four cake orders to finish for Saturday...

Mix bag this week with a one tier suprize wedding cake in white icing with red roses, a cup cake tower for an 18th in pink and purple, another cup cake tower for a 50th wedding anniversary in white and gold with an edible image of them on their wedding day which is beautiful and a two tier vintage wedding cake in ivory icing and ivory pipe work.

The one tier will be the Cake Box's nice Chocolate Mud cake iced in chocolate ganache and then covered in a thin layer of white RTR (Plastic icing). A teardrop shape poesy of red icing roses on the left side with an elegant white bride and groom. To finish the cake off with a nice red satin ribbon and a white or silver cake board (the lady that has placed the order has left it up to me).

It will end up looking something similar to the cake below that I done a few months ago.

The cup cake tower for the 18th will look bright and cute using a nice pink and purple/lilac icing and decorations. With 40 chocolate mud cup cakes and a top tier I'm sure it will make a great statement to her celebration.

The 50th wedding anniversary tower has me excited as it isn't everyday you get to make a 50th wedding anniversary cake! Mind you I have had made a few this year. I think with their wedding photo as the main focus on the top tier will add that personal touch. Again the Cake Box's chocolate mud cake is gonna be a hit along side with our butter cake.

I will defiantly post a photo next week of this two tier wedding cake. Ivory icing and 9mm ivory satin ribbon with a fine grape vine pipe work and finished off with a few small ivory blossoms. The top of the wedding cake will have a full poesy of icing Leonidas roses.

This is a picture of the roses fresh, I will use this to help me colour the icing roses as the bride is having these in her wedding.

New to The Blog World

I thought I would share my cake experiences with everyone and what better way to do it then on the web....

With wedding season only a month or so away I have some time to prepare for complete kaos and madness, at the moment its like the claim before the storm. I do work a lot better when I am under the pump and a bit of pressure but I'm a little scared but at the same time I'm very excited and up for another season of challenges.

Before the eye of the storm I will have my 2ND year in Cake Decorating Competition at Perth Royal Show. This year I will be entering three cakes...

*~ Decorated Wedding Cake
*~ Decorated Wedding Cake -Theme is Black Bridesmaids
*~ One Tier Celebration Cake

I have done up a few drawing of each cake and I have my set ideas for the decorated wedding cake and also the celebration cake but I'm a little stuck on the wedding cake with a theme.

I think that the wedding cake with a theme has stumped me so much because the black and white theme wedding I can imagine would be something so close to what I would dream to be having hence why its so hard to make a decision on a design.
