Last week of March

Just a few nice cakes that I made on the weekend that caught my eye!

This one tier square was for an engagement using bright orange icing and red icing hearts on wire with chocolate piping on top.

This cake was a three tier square, twisted stack with the brush silver monograms with my beautiful Tania Roses...

Another Chelsea cake, one tier with the same colours as the Cake box website...

PINK RIBBON GALA DAY -League Tag

Cake Box donated some cup cakes to the League Tag PINK RIBBON GALA DAY which was held on Saturday the 28Th of March down at the Belmont Rugby League Club. The day was very successful with raising a bit of money selling the Pink Ribbon goods as well as the cup cakes. All the ladies and girls that played received PINK footy socks which looked fantastic!

1st Hippo Birthday

A good family friend's little girl's first birthday was on Saturday so this is what I came up with...

She wanted it to be different to her first daughter's birthday cake which was decorated in shades of pink with an icing doll on top.

So for little Beth I did a nice purple and a lime green stars with an icing purple hippo and lime green teddy bear...

21st March 09

This week was very crazy with bridal appointments, emails, bookings and cakes! Im starting to think that soon I will start looking like a wedding cake! HAHA

Here is some of the work I did for the Saturday!

14th and 15th of March 09

Well it has been a very busy past few weeks for me (that why there hasn't been any posts up till now, sorry) and after the Bridal fair it was back in the kitchen to do some work. This weekend had a nice mix of different styles of cakes from your Modern Traditional to your Funky Fun cakes...

This cake (Rachel) is a two tier square covered in a Pink RTR with darker pink small hearts around each tier as well as some on wire on top. Black 24mm double satin with a 3mm baby pink satin along the middle. Very Cute

This was my favourite! a double stack two tier Mad Hatter style cake. Covered in White RTR, bottom tier quilted with a small pipe dot on each join. Top tier was very simple and complemented the cake very well with 3 small pipe dots all over. I bet this was a conversation starter at this wedding...

This cake was more the Modern Traditional look. Two tiers, white RTR with silver piped hearts and the brush silver monograms "A&A" on top. Royal purple ribbon around each tier with a nice 9mm silver satin with a round diamante buckle at the front.

This would have to be my other favourite! I LOVE this cake!
This is my Madison design with shades of piped pink lines with fresh roses on top! BEAUTIFUL!

Back in the Swing of things... First Week of March 09

As soon as I got off the plane I was back in the swing of work and wedding cakes and I had a HUGE week ahead of me...

A three tier Amber which had the Chocolate RTR and a nice Orange icing bow on top. This cake is one of the popular designs at the CakeBox.

This cup cake tower was so cute! Using again the Chocolate RTR and Dusty Pink RTR which made up the 50 cup cakes and top tier.

This three tier was iced in white royal icing with red cut-out hearts and with the silver brushed monograms on top to finish it off...

Another cup cake tower with the Chocolate RTR (the Chocolate RTR that week was a real hit) decorated with glass shape diamonds and with the brush silver monograms on top.

I also had the two tier Chelsea but it was iced in the royal icing rather then the smooth RTR. The frangipanis were complemented with Chocolate Sea Shells.

Not sure if you have read about or remember the "Bride I Will Never Forget"? Well it was her sisters turn to get married on that weekend! I was so excited for her and her family! She had a cup cake tower made up of about 50 Chocolate mud cup cakes with a little red satin bow covered in ivory RTR with a small red rose on top. BEAUTIFUL! I wish Her and her now husband all the very best for the future!~*

I love Sandalford Wines! On the Sunday the place was so busy! I took a good mate of mine along with me to help with setting up the cake and we had planned to stay and have lunch and to have a few wines but it was overly packed and we would have had to wait for a while (it was already around 2:30 in the afternoon so we were pretty hungry).

After driving around the Swan Valley looking for a place to eat we finally stoped in at the Duckstein for a late lunch! On the way home after a good feed we called in to the very busy Margaret River Chocolate Factory! YUM! Just what I needed to finish a very busy week! Cookies and Cream Chocolate!

My New Zealand Trip

Finally I got the chance to go on a much needed decent holiday...
I traveled most of the south island experiencing some amazing, breath taking sights and waking up to some awesome scenery...

I really recommend going over to see such a beautiful country!
This was a great veiw from the Mecure Hotel in Queenstown over looking Lake Wakatipu. Every morning I would wake up and have my coffee looking out the window.

This is the Shotover Canyon Swing which I jumped off! Crazy! 109 meters high, 60 meters freefall and you swing a 200 meter ark at 150 kmph! A must do if you ever get the chance!
