Cupcake Tower "Trish and Ted"
80 mixed Chocolate Fudge and Snow White Vanilla cupcakes topped with a fluffy cream butter cream finished off with edible seashell/beach theme cupcake toppers.
This stunning cupcake creation was for an early morning beach wedding followed by a nice summer brunch held at the beach front cafe. BEAUTIFUL

Standard Three Tier Stack "Tenniell and Dean"
Refreshing, elegant, modern wedding cake topped with fresh Royal Purple roses and lisanthus.
RTR wrap with pearls and clear gems down the side of the cake to highlight.
One of my all time FAV cake designs.
Top tier, banana cake layered in white chocolate ganache.
Middle tier, snow white brownie layered in a creamy white chocolate ganache.
AND
Bottom tier, rich chocolate brownie layered in a rich dark chocolate ganache.

Three Tier Mini Stack "Anne"
Very simple and classic white covered wedding cake highlighted with a soft silver satin ribbon with a dark satin grey along the middle.
The top two tiers was our snow white brownie layered in our creamy white chocolate ganache with the bottom tier in our chocolate brownie layered in our rich dark chocolate ganache.

PERTH ROYAL SHOW 2011

The Perth Royal Show for 2011 has been and GONE! Delicate-Lee's response from this years cake competition is still alive and talked about to this day.

This year I really wanted to step out to show my cake personality and cake artistic eye. I was told by many that this would be a risk as some judges may not like what I produced and I may not get the score that my sugar craft is worth. WELL I will NOT let that stop me from expressing my love passion and personality.
I do not enter the Perth Royal Show to win prizes, ribbons and the high scores of the judges. I enter the Perth Royal Show to push my skills and to design and create a sugar/cake art piece which I may not be able to do on a day to day "job" cake order. I also do it to give the public something interesting to look at and to show that cake decorating is an art not just thickly covered, white fruit cakes topped with roses and drapes.
Winning prises and ribbons are an added bonus.
I feel that the most rewarding part of the cake competition and the MAIN reason why I enter is the feedback I get from family, friends, friends of friends, work mates, class students, the public and the KIDS! To have your proud friend ring you and say ..." OH MY Kaylee! Your cake is AWESOME and it was so GREAT to hear the "ohs" and "wows" by everyone that walked past, I was so proud knowing that I KNOW THE CHICK THAT MADE THAT CAKE"...
The many HOURS and DAYS; the stress of DELIVERY is all worth the golden "wows" and "ohs" That is my first place ribbon.

Back in October I was delighted to make one of my good cake friends her 30Th Birthday cake for her brunch celebration.

I was very lucky to have met such a LOVELY lady in our Vintage Cupcake Bouquet Workshop and since then we have been cakie mates!

You all MUST go check out her AWESOME cupcakes, cake pops and cookies! This lady is very talented and is a MUST HAVE for any bite-size treat events.

Dimitra's bright and girly cake was a mini two tier, chocolate fudge layered in a rich dark chocolate ganache and then covered in a hot pink RTR.

Hand painted, edible rose buttons to finish off the nice sky blue drapes along with cherry red hearts.

I had SO much fun creating this 11th birthday cake for a beauitful young lady who is a part of my family.

This cake, was a two tier MINI chocolate brownie cake, iced in bright RTR colours. all decorations and figurines were made from icing.

Mr Delicate-Lee baked the cakes for his one and only little sister and did a GREAT job as it tasted AWESOME!

What a lovely LONG weekend we just had! BEAUTIFUL weather and a great time to have an engagement or wedding!
Well we had both!

First up, a nice Friday wedding out at Mulberry On Swan...
We delivered this stunning two tier wedding cake along with some gluten free cupcakes.
Top tier being our nice refreshing Coconut Tan and the bottom tier being our Chocolate Brownie, each tier was covered in Ivory RTR with a burgundy ribbon around each tier. Three icing roses on the bottom and brush silver monograms on top to give the cake some personalisation.

The room was set up very simple, yet very elegant. It wasn't over done and didn't take over the beautiful view of the countryside and river.

After the cake delivery was over, my Mum and I went over to the chocolate factory... This was the first time that she has EVER been! OH MY she has been missing out!
As it was a Friday, we didn't have to fight the tourist. We got to sit down and enjoy a nice hot coffee and a toasted ham, cheese and tomato turkish bread it also had this NICE tomato relish...we brought that in a jar and I have been eating it everyday since! We also took home a bag filled with the Margaret River Chocolate Products... I believe that it IS very good for you!

Saturday night I had my VERY good friend (My best girl-friend, Hayley-Jane's engagement.
Her cake was very simple and yet again very elegant. I also designed her a MINI cake. This size cake may look like a normal size two tier BUT it is really only a 4" and a 6" round.
Hayley-Jane wanted a mini and also I thought that it would be better as the last few...3 or 4 parties that I have been to and supplied the cake... The cake was too large and had HEAPS left over OR they didn't even cut the cake at all... So I also wanted to save heart ache... WAS I EVER SO WRONG!
By the time my partner and I got to the party (very late due to work) the cut had already been cut and MOST of it already GONE... The amount of POSITIVE feedback on how good it tasted was over whelming and AWESOME!
Her cake was all our popular Chocolate Brownie covered in an Ivory RTR. I also piped her name along with Jason's in white to match the invitation.

I would like to congratulate Hayley-Jane and Jason on their engagement (it's about time!) and I can't wait for them to set the BIG date!

This week we are busy with making Wella's wedding cake. She is the beautiful lady that won our wedding cake giveaway! Will keep you all POSTED!

It's TIMMY TIME!

When I received the request for this cake I was like a little child over whelmed by EXCITEMENT!

Timmy Time is a kids show that I enjoy watching with my niece "Mad Moo"
I love the bright colours, the shapes, the cute "round" animals and it is just a "feel good" fun show.

The bright red barn was made from a fluffy white vanilla cake layered in a creamy ganache. All decoration were hand made from RTR.

Happy 2nd Birthday Darius! I hope you had a GREAT birthday down by the river and that you enjoyed your cake!

The cake was an absolute masterpiece! very different and I was very impressed as to how you wrote the message on the board using the ribbon effect. I myself use to do cake decorating some years ago now and did eight Christmas candles for family and friends and I can tell you, I have not the patience these days!! and it is amazing the products and different ideas that are out now!!
I am a pretty fussy thing lol! and I can truly say the cake was awesome!!!! it is a real credit to you!! I had a look on your web site tonight and you are a very clever lady!! I will be telling every one who is looking to have a cake made and I myself may need a wedding cake in the near future lol!! well done and my partner Dennis was very surprised and blown away by the Mustang cake as this year he is re building a Mustang for us and the colour couldn't have been more perfect especially only describing it to you over the phone!!

Kyle's Surprise Sunday Session/Birthday Party Fundraiser

Sunday the 23rd of January at the Willagee Rugby League Club we held a SURPRISE Sunday Session and also a Birthday Party fundraiser for the brave little man Kyle, who just turned 8!

Late November 2010 I was told by a very good and close friend of mine, Mandy, that her son is ill and has just been diagnosed with the blood cancer called Leukemia. I remember that night she told me, I felt an emptiness and a massive drive to help and show support in any way, shape or form.

The next day I went up to PMH to visit Mandy and Kyle. I walked into the ward and with seconds I had to walk back out, I broke down in tears! I was a teary mess and I really needed to be strong for them both! They didn't need to see me like this...
I collected myself and walked back in with Balloons and cupcakes. The Cook family didn't know that I was coming visit so I was more then happy to leave the balloons and cakes if they didn't feel up to visitors.
After the nurse asking for permission to let me see them both I got to see the little soldier and my good mate! They both were still in shock but in high spirits on the outlook of their new journey. I am not a mother myself but to see the pain and hurt in Mandy's eyes killed me! No mother should have to go through something like this...BUT I was once told we are only dealt with what we CAN handle! and I do believe that the Cook family are Strong and that they all CAN handle this! There is a light!

I got home after my visit and I was talking to my family saying that I needed to do something more... I needed to do something to show them that the Cook family have ALOT of support and also that we are all here for them!

After talking to a few friends about a Sunday Session fundraiser it all become a reality within days... I emailed a few businesses for help and also told all of our friends! EVERYONE was so keen to jump on board and help out as much as they can. It was a great warm fuzzy feeling knowing that we all can come together and help out a mate in need!

A week before the event it was brought to my knowledge that it was Kyle's 8Th birthday on the Monday, SO plans changed direction and what went from a relaxed Sunday Session to a FUN MEMORABLE BIRTHDAY PARTY!

It was all coming together, as a sporting club which then grew into a massive group of people wanting to lend a hand... Great people donating big and small from little mate's pocket and lunch money, prizes, gifts and time... to large sums of money! EVERYONE helped! THANK YOU

Two awesome chicks then jumped on board by offering their time and painting skills to FACE PAINTING! Thanks Hayley and Alexa!

We also were joined by the 80 year old Balloon Twisting man ROY! He was so cute and the kids loved his creations...

The list goes on... Sausage sizzle, Curry puffs, KARAOKE (If you need an awesome KARAOKE GOOD TIME EMAIL ME AND I WILL PASS YOU ONTO BIG T) (Thanks Big T), Live music, Bar staff, Kitchen Staff, Becstar's mate Brad and his family, Cockburn bowling club, Charlie and his two daughters and also the BEAUTIFUL Tiff and Justine who cut every ones hair THANK YOU... EVERYONE that was there to share the day THANK YOU.. to all that couldn't make the day but still donated THANK YOU

We raised OVER (still counting as we are still getting donations) $4,000
AWESOME EFFORT!

As for the big shave... It was a VERY emotional one... but worth every tear! and HEY its growing back!

I am enjoying the no hair situation... extra 20-30 minutes in bed so I have worked out, NO shampooing, NO brushing, NO drying and NO Styling

You can FEEL the wind! You can feel a whole different sensation when your hair is all of 2-3mm long!

I am not the only nude nut walking around, i was joined by so many, kids, brothers, mates and also Kyle's dad... LOOK OUT WORLD THE NUDE NUTS ARE TAKING OVER! hahaha

The amount of lovin I am getting now being a nude nut is awesome! "Kaylee you look fantastic!" "WOW You suit the bald!" "Oh Kaylee it doesn't look that bad! I like it" (words from my grandma, who was a nude nut herself last year) "Ay you look like Pink!" The comments and support is so warming!
Ladies and Gents...Feel free to rub my head in public, I love the feeling! I am not sick, You won't catch my baldness and I am not a MAD criminal with tattoos! You can look me in the eyes when I order a coffee...PLEASE HAHAHA

As 2010 comes close to an end, I thought I would take a time trip back and look at what was...
What a massive year... I am very lucky to have been given a great 2010 filled with success, love, load of fun and opportunity BUT some of my close friends wasn't so lucky... First I would like to wish them all a BETTER 2011 and I know that with a great amount of support, love, cake and a few baby steps it will be a MUCH better year!

JANUARY, FEBRUARY and MARCH

It was fantastic meeting and working with Sarah, Melissa and also Emily as well as working along side with Rob, Julia and Margaret again.
We had some great times including making a cake for Sir Richard Branson and I EVEN got the chance to meet the MAN!

Wedding Cake at the Fremantle Prison, Which was very SCARY haha even if I delivered the cake during the day! I was SCARED! BUT Still an awesome place to have your wedding reception..

Most my weekends and some nights are taken to coach the awesome Bear ladies (May I add we have a great season!). I also got the opportunity to manage and go over to Adelaide with the WA State side 2010. I had been away on state as player in 2009 and had alot of fun and the chance to meet some great ladies from other teams , who I really didn't like on the field but that all changed... This state trip was different, New bunch of ladies, we WON and got to bring the trophy home to WA. We also had some great times and shared alot of laughs! Thanks LADIES! See ya on the field (finger crossed) or on the sideline 2011

AUGUST and SEPTEMBER
Another two busy months with August filled with some great cake times with my niece Mad Moo! It was her FIRST birthday and not only did she get a cake bigger then her she also got her first cake decorating and baking lessons! (Got to get in early)

August and September were filled with some great cakes! Bright and FUN! but what topped September off for Delicate-Lee was taking out FIRST PLACE at the Perth Royal Show! (Even got a great write up in the local paper!)

OCTOBER (BIRTHDAY MONTH, In BALI hehe THANKS BECSTAR) and NOVEMBER
Well October was spent in Bali! with a great mate and her kids! It was my first time in Bali and I will have to say I AM HOOKED! Check out my birthday cake Bec and the kids surprised me with! LOVE IT

After some well earned time away November was a crazy time again for birthdays and weddings! Not only that we launched our first ever Cake class which was held in December...

Perth Royal Show 2010

Well if you have been following on facebook you would kind of know the journey that I have been on leading up to the Perth Royal Show.

I started by making an "inspiration" board. This was made up from pictures that I loved. I wanted something BRIGHT, OUT THERE and also something to show my love for the MUNSTERS! hehe

Here is what I started with...

I then went with a three tier design... I love odd number tiers for weddings... I don't know why but I feel that "even" numbered tiers in wedding cakes look un complete.

The bright pink, sky blue and the deep royal purple complemented each other very nicely. When I first put the three colours together I wasn't 100%... But when finishing the cake I was very happy and ecstatic. Now while we are on the topic of colour I would like to tell you all one of the disappointments I had in this cake adventure. Lately I have been using the AmeriColour soft gel colours to colour my icing. The reason of this is ONE, I don't mind trying something new and TWO, it was all that my local supplier was selling. While at home and the whole process of making the show cake at home the colours we GREAT! As I said I was so HAPPY with the out come. When it came to the delivery of the cake, 20 minutes by car, 8:30AM, car with tinted windows, I was very disappointed. The colour of the icing faded from BRIGHT to DULL! I have never EVER had this problem to this EXTENT! Yes icing colours do fade BUT they shouldn't fade this much in this short amount of time... I WILL NOT use this brand of colour again... This is so SAD as they do have a great range of colours BUT I can not risk something like this happening again..

ANYWAY

With the problem of the colour and also Mr Hurman Munster not waiting to stand straight we finally got the cake to the show.

The amount of SUPPORT, LOVE, POSITIVE ENERGY from all my family, friends, friends of friends, the ladies from the cake decorating clubs, my work and also from people I don't know has been overwhelming! I would like to THANK EVERYONE that has helped me as it has given me more drive to achieve more with my passion of cakes!

I honestly didn't think that my cake would receive 1st prize or even a place at all! When I was told that my cake come FIRST I really couldn't believe it! WOW it must have been something even with the colour fading and My Hurman not doing what he is meant to...

Going to the show on Sunday to see the cake (now with ribbons falling off, looks like the cake has no love or owner) with a giant BLUE ribbon was the best ever feeling! To have my mum, family and close friends to be so proud of me was well worth the hours and stress that was involved with the whole process. To stand in the large crowd and listen to the comments and feedback that was being said was AMAZING! EVERYONE loved how different this wedding cake was.

I can't get over how fast the year has gone! A year ago myself, My mum, My twin Brother and Sister were waiting in the hospital car park on the arrival of our little girl... One year ago my sister gave birth to the beautiful Maddison Grace! and now she turns ONE!

It has been a great year and I love every minute being an Aunt! She is my little mad moo and I love her Gutz! She always makes me smile, laugh and always keeping me on my toes with all the new things that she is learning! She is one beautiful girl with a great bubbly personality!

The past year has also shown me how awesome my little sister is as a Mum! She has done a great job so far and to see the bond that she has with her daughter is so beautiful! I couldn't be any more proud! We are very blessed!

I couldn't help myself in making Mad Moo her 1st birthday cake. Took over 14 hours to make her master piece and her cup cakes for her tea party birthday! It was great sense of achievement to see her little face covered in cake and icing!

Saturday the 10Th Myself and the Willagee Captain (Bec) was kindly invited to Joondalup's 20Th Anniversary Ball held at the Woodvale Function Room.

What a great night we both had! It was lovely to meet, talk and dance with people that we see on a regular basis on the rugby field. I also have to say that the ladies looked fantastic in their beautiful ball gowns! So use to seeing some of them in their rugby gear that you couldn't recognize them.

Thank you for having us! It was a great night! See you all on the field this SATURDAY! Go the BEARS haha See you all at the bar after the game for a drink!

Now back to business... The Cake...

We made a Cup cake tower which had 68 chocolate fudge cup cakes iced in a creamy sweet butter cream topped with an edible image of the Giants logo.

The cutting cake was a chocolate fudge layered with our awesome rich dark chocolate ganache. It was shaped and topped with an icing figurine to look like the logo. This was then painted in an edible gold to look like a massive cup cake trophy.

What I Was Missing Out On...

The past two days I have tried two great things that now are a new LOVE of mine. They both have been out available at the shops for a very long time... I have always seen them and thought "Nar, waste of money, wouldn't work"
Now I eat my words... These two products are fantastic and They both will become a normal day to day thing that I will use on a regular basis. What am I talking about you say??

Product Number One: Silicon Cake Molds
On Friday I thought I would give it a shot as most of the cake "Tins" are now silicon. I honestly didn't think they would work. I thought that it would melt or be very difficult to get the cake out in one piece (so I had my good old trusty normal tin as back up just in case) and I was WRONG! Silicon is FANTASIC! I will be now updating my tins "In with the NEW and out with the OLD"

Product Number Two: Scholl Party Feet
Last night I attended the Joondalup Rugby League Ball and I was wearing very tall awesome heels and I was told to try the Party Feet as I would be able to walk and dance all night... (Again) I honestly thought that they wouldn't make ANY difference.. I was VERY WRONG (Again)
I couldn't recommend these enough! They were awesome! I had no problems in walking and didn't get sore, tender feet! These little jelly type clear cushions are going to go in all my heels! If you haven't tried these before you MUST!

Fremantle Prison ~Cup Cake Break Out~

These cup cakes looked AWESOME set up in the main cell of Fremantle Prison! This bride had an elegant cake to go along with her elegant (scary) reception. There was just over 60 cup cake half in chocolate fudge and the other half in vanilla fudge with white icing. Each cup cake had a beautiful black satin bow on the front. Top tier and the cup cake stand were decorated in fresh white roses and Singapore orchids! I would like to wish the couple all the very best for the future and I hope that they all had a good night in the main cell!

I will be completely honest with you all... When the function coordinator left me on my own in the main cell to set up the cup cakes I was so scared that something was going to appear and scare the jippers out of me! BUT it would have to be the best place so far that I have been to in regards to wedding receptions! hehe

Sweet Bake Off Cake Master Piece...

Sunday the 16Th of may was the "Sweet Bake Off" held at the Court Hotel in Perth. Unfortunately I didn't make it there in time to enter my cake due to a sad family passing.

I dedicate this "Mad Hatter" to my beautiful Nanna Mitchison (Annabella Mitchison) as I know she would have been a little disappointed in me not making it there BUT proud of the cake I did make!

The theme of the day was "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" so I carved the hat and layered the chocolate fudge cake with a rich dark chocolate ganache and iced it in RTR.

Hope you all like it! Since it didn't get judged on Sunday I would LOVE to hear your feedback!

Hey All!

I would like to Thank CakeBox for the last two years, I really enjoyed being given the opportunity to build a wedding cake department from ground up. During this period I was able to further my own skills and learn so much about running a business. I will remember and cherish many fond memories during my employment there.

The first week of December's wedding cakes were all about stunning flowers, this included both fresh and icing.

What a busy week and weekend I just had! Great way to finish the last week of November! I had a few corporate functions to cater cakes for as well as my usual wedding cakes and also my crazy Saturday filled with decorating bridal appointments and deliveries.

This massive cup cake tower of about 280 cup cakes was for a re launch of their company logo AECOM. I hope you all had a good evening.
These cup cakes were a mix of chocolate fudge and a vanilla fudged topped with a white frosting and an edible logo on top.

This next cup cake tower was for Lunch Box's High Tea party in the city.
I was lucky enough to be invited along for some wine, canapes and CUP CAKES!
Thanks Emma and Amy for a lovely evening! Met some great ladies and also complements to the chef on those springs rolls! YUM!

This would have to be MY FAVORITE wedding cake that I have made for this month. What an awesome cake!
Three tier mad hatter, chocolate fudge and butter cake for the flavours, different shades of purple icing wrapped around each tier with icing peacock birds on top inspired by some material birds found by the bride from an American website. Real peacock feathers and icing orchids complemented the whole look of the cake. I hope the Bride and groom loved their wedding cake as much as I did!

This four tier was another beautiful design that i was given the chance to draw up and bring to life with icing. This size cake will feed about 220 for finger portions or about 103 for dessert. White icing with different size crystals and pearls on the side of the cake topped with stunning fresh deep red roses! Love IT!

Along with the wedding cake orders, birthday cake surprises and beautiful cup cakes I had my first shot at making a fascinator for my sister. I am very happy with the way it turned out so I may have found my next calling in life. *~Ha Ha~*

My two favourite cakes this week is a wedding cake and a christening cake...

The wedding cake was a three tier round covered in ivory icing finished off with an ivory satin ribbon. The bottom and top tier was embossed with the invitation paper which left a stunning delicate affect. The middle tier replicated the invitation paper with an off white royal icing. Small white orchids with baby green glitter to highlight the orchids tongue.

Next we have 2 cute baby building blocks. These measured 7 inches square covered in white and a soft blue.

Saturday with some help from Suze and my good old mate Arthur we completed a massive cup cake tower for a 50Th birthday!

All the Cup Cakes and Cutting Cake were Cake Box's famous Chocolate Mud in a silver cup cake case covered in a rich chocolate ganache topped with dark chocolate curls.

The cup cake stand was complemented by some fresh summer citruses, kiwi fruit, berries and grape leaves.

Nice fresh summer start to November with loads of wedding cakes and also celebration cakes to keep me busy.

Just a few bright coloured wedding cakes that were my favourite for the weekend...

This first one is our "Maddison" wedding cake in a two tier standard with shades of apple green around each tier. White icing Asiatic lilies with brush silver monograms on top. This size cake will feed 110 finger portions or 54 for dessert.

This next one was a standard three tier which will feed 165 finger portions or 81 for dessert covered in white RTR with a dark purple ribbon around each tier. Icing white, soft pink and burgundy roses on top as well as scattered around the whole cake.

This would have to be the best, most enjoyable, most rewarding and AWESOME wedding cake I have ever done! *~Thank You~*

On the 14Th of March this year this awesome couple stepped foot into my showroom with a collection of pictures of their dream wedding cake. Little did the Bride and Groom know... I also was in "LOVE" with this wedding cake!

The highlight of my cake career was this 4 tier mad hatter.

The top and the third tier was a chocolate hazel nut mud and the second and bottom tier was a creamy butter cake each covered in our rich chocolate ganache and brightly coloured RTR.

The main colours used were dirty wedge wood blues, burgundy, dusty purples and black with the smaller details being in orange, dark green and ivory.

I made icing figurines for the top. "Jack and Sally" from Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. This is one of my all time favourite movies and I LOVE JACK!

Sally was a great figurine to make but it was Jack that tested my patience. Jack is very skinny and is a very fragile type of figure. He took the most time to make as each arm and leg had to be held in place to dry but the topper was an awesome experience to make! *~I wanted to take them home for myself haha ~*

After spending bulk hours making this cake it was time to deliver. I was so nervous delivering this cake with my good mate Arthur as it was so large and because I had put in so much effort into this cake that I didn't want ANYTHING to go wrong.

We got to Peel Manor in one piece (so did the cake) after a long slow drive it was time to set it up on the cake table.

When I walked into the room it looked STUNNING! I really didn't want to leave after my job was done!

Before I could even put the cake down on the table I had all the staff and also the bride and groom's parents around the table speechless. This was one jaw dropping cake that the Bride and Groom had to see before their wedding ceremony (on separate trips as they couldn't see each other).

It was the most rewarding experience to be standing their while the Bride and Groom looked at their cake and fell in love with the work I had done for them. I then knew that it was perfect especially getting hugs while covered in food colouring and icing sugar while the Groom looked fantastic in his suit and the Bride looking ever so beautiful with hair and make up done waiting for the right moment to put on her dress. This moment was the best ever! I didn't have dry eyes that's for sure!

I hope they had a great wedding day! I know this cake will be one that I won't ever forget! THANK YOU!

First I would like to start off with my favourite flowers for this season! *~Ranunculus~* They come in many bright colours and at the moment I am loving the vibrant PINK. These white ranunculus below were used on one of the wedding cakes...

This next cake was a standard three tier round which would have fed 165 finger portions or 81 for dessert. It had white icing, navy blue ribbon around each tier with navy blue pipe work. *~Stunning!~*

This "boxed" cake I used the white ranunculus along with white pom pom chrysanthemums with green foliage.

Next up we have a three tier which has the brush silver monograms on top with silver tone ribbons and hand made flowers coloured up in a black/blue colour with silver centres.

Being a long weekend, also the grand final of the A.F.L and it was also a big weekend for myself with the Ken Allen Award night and my rugby club's end of year windup "oh" Cant forget that Saturday was also the opening of the Perth Royal Show! It was a big weekend for EVERYONE!

Well I'm sure there was plenty of weddings area Perth! Beautiful weather Saturday and Sunday plus the extra day off! Awesome!

Barbie's 50th

To help celebrate Neil Taylor is showcasing his vintage barbie collection at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

The opening night I was asked to make Barbie's birthday cake at Neil's collection!

Mixed Bag of Lollies

Last weekend I had a bit of a mix bag when it come to the cakes that had to be made for weddings around Perth... From Elegant Modern to the Modern Japanese infused cake, all in all it was a great week for cakes and I hope that the rain held off for all the bride's over the weekend.

First we will start with my friend's wedding cake. She had a three tier standard stacked covered in white RTR. Baby blue 9 mm satin ribbon around each tier with beautiful white with soft pink centre roses cascading down the front. At the back of the cake was a bit of fun for the bride and groom! I made a leaped skin piece with tattoo inspired hearts, stars and swallows! It was so much FUN!

Next is was for a small wedding, covered in white icing with Burgundy ribbon and a mix of burgundy roses, lilies and orchids with green ivy to highlight it all. Stunning!

This cake is a smaller version of a three tier standard stacked ivory wedding cake. Chocolate pipe to represent the fine cherry blossom tree with shades of burgundy cherry blossoms.

Also here are just some cup cakes for a bit of fun!

Four tier Mad Hatter, not only was it an awesome shape but it was so HEAVY.

This was a Lindsy Smith design which the bride fell in love with. I followed the design to a tea but it did look a little different as it was my style of decorating so I hope She likes it.

Sorry it has been awhile since I have updated but I went on leave and had a blast over in Melbourne...

Before I left I finished another NEW Showroom cake...

This is a standard 4 tier square, white icing with white roses between the middle of the cake. Delicate pipe work with a pipe monogram to personalize the cake (I love adding special touches to personalize things).

Also I had a few birthday cakes, figurines and also a wedding...

This wedding cake was very classy, two tier square, white icing with blue ribbon with a black think ribbon along the middle. White icing Singapore orchids to finish and complement the cake.

Myself and Hayley received "THANK YOU FLOWERS & CHOCOLATES!"

I love flowers and also chocolates so this was a lovely way to finish off my last week of work before I went away...

Now back in the swing of things... No rest for the wicked... This week I have a few wedding cakes that will blow your mind! Keep your eye out for next week! (Esp when one of the cakes will take two of us to carry).

Last Saturday my two favourite cakes were nothing but beautiful elegant pieces of art.

This first cake is a white covered RTR with all cakes in fruit cake. Bottom tier was a double stack with a top tier being a single stack on top. Brush silver monograms on top with white icing roses. Just stunning! I can't wait to see the wedding photos!

Second cake is a standard two tuer square, white icing with simple red icing roses on top.

All Inked Up For A 21st

I am going to do a tattoo inspired wedding cake for the showroom but for the Saturday just gone I was asked to make a 21st birthday cake which was in the same theme.

The 21st cake was a small three tier round, chocolate mud covered in a dark ivory RTR. Black cake board along with 16mm black ribbon around each tier.

I then painted each cake with a leopard print and decorated the cake in icing nautical stars, cherries, little stars, swallows and large red tattoo style roses.

The cake was then finished off with a pin up icing mermaid on top and large bright red hearts with banners saying "Happy" "21st" "Birthday" "Emily"

I will be making a showroom cake similar to this cake this week so keep you eyes peeled!

New Shoowroom Cake NUMBER SIX

PORTIA-ROSE

With the Portia being so popular at the Cake Box I thought it would be best to make it for the showroom for everyone to see.

I have modified it just a little by making it a 5 tier round, white icing, white satin ribbon with beautiful bows at the back, cascading "Tania" roses down the front in a stunning bridal white with the edges of the petals dusted in a rose pink edible glitter.

This size cake will feed about 325 finger portions or 160 for dessert.

Saturday The 8th of August

Weddings are now starting to pick back up as the weather is becoming more fine and sunny...

I had a few wedding cake orders for Saturday which was a nice mix with a "Sweet Sakura" cup cake order in colours of white and red, a red and ivory 2 tier "Kerri" and a custom black and white "Amber".. along with a few birthday orders and also prep for showroom cakes.

The Kerri cake in a standard two tier was iced in Ivory RTR with nice red trimmings. Underneath the elegant cake was a beautiful white velvet mud cake which I believe was served for finger portions (take home).

Next pictured is the customized Amber. The original Amber is a standard four tier covered in chocolate RTR with a gathered ripple affect on each tier with a bright burnt orange icing bow on top. This bride loved the soft icing bow and had a plain white covered standard four tier with a classic black icing bow on top. This was my favourite of the week! Underneath the icing, starting from the top was a traditional fruit cake, butter cake, Cake Box's famous carrot cake and on the bottom was a nice chocolate mud.

This funky pink, white and black Mad-Hatter was for a friend's 21st.

It was a very cold winters night down at the rugby club with a bone chilling wind. The celebration was held in side, an open fire warmed the room which kept us girls in beautiful dresses warm. I used a chocolate fudge base with layers of ganache in between as the cake was used for dessert and being such a cold night; a nice chocolate cake warms the belly.

The cake was covered in white RTR with bright pink and black decorations.

These are the cup cakes I have made for my sisters baby shower that myself, my mum and my other sister will be hosting on Sunday.

She will be the first addition to our family and I am so excited to be becoming an Aunty in about 2 or 3 weeks time...

They are a mix of chocolate fudge cake and butter cake. Each cup cake has a satin bow on the front, iced with a very sweet frosting with a small icing decoration on top. I can wait to stack them on the cup cake stand!

Everyone that had walked in my decorating room while I was making this cake as well as all most everyone that saw this cake before delivery, all said something along the lines of "That looks like stacked hat boxes" So I would like to call this cake... "The Hat Box cake!" he he

!It was stunning! (mind you I nearly lost my eye over it)

Three 9" round (chocolate mud, sticky date and chocolate mud again) stacked with two rows of deep red fresh roses in between. Black and white icing stripes finished off with black satin ribbon bows...

With hand made icing decorations, the soft delicate bright pink cherry blossoms and along with the cherry blossom tree help frame the icing kawaii figurines. These figurines I have made entirely out of coloured RTR which can be eaten or saved as a memory for years and years...

The Sue

This cake has become the most ordered wedding cake at the Cake Box. It has been made in many different tiers, colours and styles so it was a MUST to remake it for our NEW showroom...

This is a standard three tier round which will feed 165 finger portions or 81 for dessert. Covered in ivory RTR with ivory satin ribbon around each tier with bows at the front to highlight the piped dots on each tier.

The icing standard roses are made in ivory which forms a nice rounded poesy on top with the ivory satin ribbon in between.

Thank you so much for our wonderful cake! We had such a beautiful day celebrating our wedding at Chidley Point, followed by the reception at the Mussel Bar in Fremantle. We were surrounded by 110 amazing friends and family.
The cake was very popular as only half of the bottom layer was left
for our 'wedding recovery' the following day! We chose our style of
cake as we wanted a very relaxed, non-traditional wedding atmosphere.....
As you can see the blue of the bow on the cake represents my dress!
And we are both chocolate lovers, hence the chocolate icing.

Kaylee – The Twilight cake was perfect. Her jaw dropped, her eyes bulged followed by a little squeal of delight. When she stuck the knife in for her wish it went through Bella’s heart. As the girls all agreed, it was simply killing off the competition. Next she cut off Rosalie’s head, stabbed Alice in the heart then ate Jasper followed by Edward the next day. Should I be worried?!

From memory I don't think I have ever had a mid week wedding cake...

I can't take all the credit for this cake as I really only covered the two cakes and put it all together.

It was a simple two tier round (Chocolate mud for the top and Vanilla Syrup for the bottom) covered in white RTR with a lemon yellow ribbon around each tier. The bride then had her custom made figurines on top with hearts on wire.These figurines are fantastic and have great detail!

Quilted Chocolate Pleasure

This cake I had for the 23rd of May. It was my all time fave for that weekend!

It was a two tier square covered in chocolate RTR which I then quilted and piped a small dot on each join. The top tier had a beautiful arrangement of fresh white lisianthus, white Singapore orchids, pink and white roses. I finished the cake with a bridal white satin ribbon which highlighted all the colours on the cake.

This First cake was for a good friend who turned 25 and had her party at the Devilles Pad so I thought that this skull would fit in with the venue just perfect. The skull was made from chocolate mud cake with RTR icing. Finished off with a nice large black and red satin ribbon bow.

This cute soft pink cake was made for a little girls christening. The one tier chocolate mud cake covered in a soft pink RTR with white icing blocks spelling out her name on top. Little white icing foot prints surrounded the cake.

This is the most popular cake ordered at the Cake Box called "Sue". This is the first one that I have done in this design in a four tier. The icing, ribbon and flowers are all ivory. The cake fitted in very well with her reception at Villa Pourzand in Cottesloe.

Next we have a elegant three tier, white heart shape cake with nice small pearl pipe around each tier, finished off with some open dog roses in soft pink.

Another three tier, which is a popular design like the Sue cake. It is a plan type of wedding cake design with the silver brush monograms on top with white and fuchsia pink ribbon.

We got married on March 14th. We had a lunch time reception at the Indiana Tearooms and the sun was shining on the blue ocean behind us. A wonderful day was had by all.

We wanted a simple wedding with our own 'twist' and that is why we chose "Izzy" as our wedding cake, but chose to alter the design of the icing. The madhatter design with simple, traditional quilted icing over the delicious fruit cake was perfect. Having the bride and groom on a bicycle placed neither up hill or downhill was perfect also.

Now this two tier was very simple, white RTR with Bridal white 24mm satin ribbon with a Red 9mm along the middle with a round diamante buckle on the front. Top tier finished the cake off with the brushed silver monograms on top.

This one tier was our "Hayley" cake in Ivory and Chocolate tones. Again with the brush silver monograms to finish the cake off and to personalize it.

This cake was delivered to the Old Swan Brewery in Perth and was a simple but elegant cake. Ivory RTR with Black 24mm satin ribbon with a Sage green 9mm along the middle. Different sized ivory icing magnolias arrange on the bottom tier just highlighted the Round/Square/Round tiered cake.

I would also like to mention some great work that I saw on Saturday delivering another bride's wedding cake (She had a three tier square in a twisted stack with the custom made icing figurines on top, the photo is on my other camera).
As I walked in to her reception centre I was blown away by the great job her decorators had done! It was MAGIC! The colour of the flowers to the beautiful centre pieces in the middle of the 22 tables amazed me, Ive never seen anything like it. Her colours were made up of watermelon pinks, soft oranges lilies, orchids and a mix of greenery. With the twisted willow master pieces and glass bubble things with a tea light candle in the middle on each table it gave the room a real warm fairy tale feeling. I hope that i get to see photos soon!

Kirsty and Luke (Hendo) Engagement 5th April 09

I was invited to my mates Hendo and Kirsty's engagement which was held on the 5th of April 09 down at the Beach Bar at "At Salt on the Beach" in North Fremantle.

They had a beach theme with blues, white and frangipannis as Luke proposed to Kirsty on the beach... ~Aw www~

I would like to wish them both all the very best for the future and I can't wait to make their master piece wedding cake
