My Fav Wedding For October 2008
This was my all time favourite for the month! I love the Japanese art and tattoos and this wedding reception was just beautiful! Once I find my groom, I think this would have to be in my scarp book for ideas.
The room was decorated by the bride herself, it gave off such a warm welcoming feeling and I think the added personal touches helped with that.
I fell in love with the Japanese figurines that she had on the cake table which complemented the cup cake tower just nicely...

Wedding Cakes 17th, 18th 19th of October 08
Just a few favourite Cakes for that week! It was a very crazy busy week ha ha but the cakes that I completed looked great! Every cake was different in its own way and style! Awesome variety that week~*
This cake was a three tier round with a kitchen cake to feed a fair amount for dessert. All cakes were covered in the Ivory RTR with a nice burnt orange ribbon around each tier to finish he cake off. She had a mixture of icing Roses and small orchids flowing down the front of the cake with the custom made icing figurines on the side.
This cake again was another three tier but it was slightly smaller in size (6", 8" and a 10"). Each cake had a smaller cake board in between and iced in royal icing. The orchids were silk to match the ones in the Bride's bouquet.

The monograms are so popular with cakes these days and as they make a statement themselves, you don't need your cake decorated as heavy, this next cake is a great example...
The next two cakes are of the same design called the "Sue" cake.. Even tho it is the same design, changing the colours can really change the look of the cake...

Brides Against Breast Cancer
Reading my favourite blog this afternoon (www.stylemepretty.com) and I had come across an entry about this program in America called Brides Against Breast Cancer (www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.org). I think that this is a great idea! and such a lovely web site...
Thought I would share with you all as it is Pink Ribbon Month and this is something that I have a close family member going through and hold the Pink Ribbon close to me heart (Crazy enough to get the pink ribbon tattooed on my breast).

A client that I will never forget
A few months back on a early Saturday morning appointment I met this bride and her sister.
I would like to wish her and her family all the very best for the future and I can't wait for the next chance to make them a cake again! THANKYOU~*
Before this I had a pretty bad week at work and also life outside of work. I was really thinking about changing my type of job (I don't think I ever will but sometimes you do think about it). That week I felt that my work and efforts wasn't as much appreciated by my clients for all the hard work and time involved in a cake... and it just got to me until I met this client. She made my day and also week.
She was such a lovely lady and so pleasant to talk to, she laid her cards on the table and told me everything she wanted in her dream cake and left the decorating up to me.
She told me bits and pieces about her wedding and I fell in love with her style and I thought "WOW this wedding is going to be absolutely beautiful!"
Also being such a lovely bride everything should just fall in place!
After her appointment on that Saturday she gave me back my energy, drive and passion for my job!
She is on her honeymoon at the moment and I really cant wait till she is back just to hear about her day and also to see some nice photos.
Her cake was such a pleasure to make! I enjoyed every moment and put in all I could to produce her dream cake as we discussed.
She had a three tier round, chocolate icing "ripples" on each tier. She then had a nice icing bow which was to look like a double bow in the two colours that she had on the invites and also around the room.
On the middle tier she then has custom made icing figurines. She emailed me pictures of her dress etc to help me get as close as possible.
She then had a smaller cake, as they have a little girl this cakes had involved her. It was a small 6" round butter cake which was shaped to look like a Pea Pod. In the middle was three peas being for the bride, the groom and then their daughter in the middle with a cute little pink bow.
Here's some pictures of her cakes.
I would like to wish her and her family all the very best for the future and I can't wait for the next chance to make them a cake again! THANKYOU~*
First Weekend of October 08
Sorry it has taken me this long to post up a blog. The last few weeks has been very crazy for myself with a huge work load!
Here are some pictures of the cakes i had done for the first weekend of the beautiful month of October...
The cake topper on this cake is from weddingstar called "Just One Kiss". this was a three tier called with our Bacci Gluten Free Flavour for two of the tiers and Lemon Pistachio for the other...
This cup cake tower is made up of about 120 Chocolate Mud cup cakes dipped in choc ganache with fresh deep red roses. The ceremony and reception was held at a beautiful winery just outside of Perth! The views looked amazing..
This cake was so cute! I loved all the soft pinks and ivorys, it all worked well together! Might have to do this design again for my next birthday...
