First week of DECEMBER 08 (Arr not long till Christams)

This weekend I had a few cakes I few in love with... Hope you like

This beautiful, modern soft Pink three tier was for a friend who was married in the nice gardens of Caversham House. When I delivered the cake I was amazed on how beautiful the reception looked. As you walked into the room there was this beautiful floor to roof mirror with the curly black frame... I want one in the Cake Box showroom, I'm in love with it! ha ha

This awesome, colour full wedding cake was also for the Friday, I wanted to post it up as it was something different to you standard wedding cakes and cup cakes. This was made up of 40 mini cakes decorated with poured fondant and royal icing accents. It was so bright and colour full! Such a joy to make... *~Thanks Sazzie for helping!~*

This cake below is popular like our Sue cake but it is called "Hayley" This is the first time I have made it in this colour, Ivory with red... JUST BEAUTIFUL!

On Sunday the 7Th CakeBox had its Christmas party for 2008! Such a lovely day and I am paying for it now with tomato RED shoulders he he *~Keep you eye out for Pictures of our Christmas Party BBQ~* (Thanks to our Camera Lady CATHY)

29th November 08

My favourite for this week which were all for the 29Th of November 08.

This first one was a small two tier, Ivory icing with silver icing hearts on wire as well as over the cake. Top tier is finished off nicely with the Brush Silver Monograms "S & A"

The second cake is one of our popular designs from the CakeBox which is called the Sue. The two tier cake was done in Ivorys with ivory icing roses with painted red tips.

The third cake is a three tier square iced in white RTR with white icing roses scattered with Navey centres to match the ribbon around each tier.

November 22nd 2008

This week i had a lot of wedding cake orders, from small two tiers to large cup cake towers. It was a very intresting week with Hayley helping me with some fresh flower arrangements. She did a wonderful job and I Thank her A LOT for all her help on Saturday! THANKS HAYLEY JANE~!
Two of my favourites this week were the following....

My first favourite is a double 3 tier Mad Hatter cake with all tiers made in our traditional CakeBox Chocolate Shard Mud cake. All icing and decorations we in the colours of Ivory, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and a nice Mocha colour to match the bride's maids dresses.

My second Favourite for that week was for a lovely client of mine who was such a pleasure to talk to every time. It was such a joy to talk to her and to design her daughter's wedding cake who lived in Melbourne. This was a large cup cake tower made up of a cutting cake and 120 Chocolate Mud cup cakes. The cutting cake and cup cakes were iced in a white frosting and trimmed with silver cashou balls. Some cup cakes had small decorations which were beach thongs, beach towel and sea shells. I made icing figurines for the cutting cake, the bride was holding a large bag (as she collects hand bags), the groom was holding a guitar and also their pet cat Gizmo also joined them on the top tier.

If you would like quotes on any cakes that you see on my blog please feel free to email me at weddings@cakebox.com.au

First Week Of November

First week of November brought me some great spring/summer designs. A lot of Reds, Yellows and Peaches in this weeks mix of wedding cakes. I find it funny sometimes as your see each week has a going trend, one week it might be names (where most of the bride's names are the same but with different spelling) and some weeks its colours or flowers but they all seem to have one thing in common. This week it was colours and flowers.
Here are two of my favourite cakes that I had made that week.
The first is a small two tier round with chocolate hazel nut filling covered in white RTR. Red 9mm satin ribbon with red dog roses, red normal roses and small white orchids.

The second one is again a small two tier round this time with sliver 9 mm satin ribbon. pillars in between each tier with fresh white lilies, deep red roses and fresh white small orchids.

My Fav Wedding For October 2008

This was my all time favourite for the month! I love the Japanese art and tattoos and this wedding reception was just beautiful! Once I find my groom, I think this would have to be in my scarp book for ideas.

The room was decorated by the bride herself, it gave off such a warm welcoming feeling and I think the added personal touches helped with that.

I fell in love with the Japanese figurines that she had on the cake table which complemented the cup cake tower just nicely...

Wedding Cakes 17th, 18th 19th of October 08

Just a few favourite Cakes for that week! It was a very crazy busy week ha ha but the cakes that I completed looked great! Every cake was different in its own way and style! Awesome variety that week~*

This cake was a three tier round with a kitchen cake to feed a fair amount for dessert. All cakes were covered in the Ivory RTR with a nice burnt orange ribbon around each tier to finish he cake off. She had a mixture of icing Roses and small orchids flowing down the front of the cake with the custom made icing figurines on the side.

This cake again was another three tier but it was slightly smaller in size (6", 8" and a 10"). Each cake had a smaller cake board in between and iced in royal icing. The orchids were silk to match the ones in the Bride's bouquet.

The monograms are so popular with cakes these days and as they make a statement themselves, you don't need your cake decorated as heavy, this next cake is a great example...

The next two cakes are of the same design called the "Sue" cake.. Even tho it is the same design, changing the colours can really change the look of the cake...
